Our glutenous Christmas Eve brunch with monkey bread, cinnamon rolls, fresh strawberries, sparkling cider, and bacon (I love how my kids think bacon is a special treat since I seldom let them have it) is done. We placed the characters in the nativity as we talked about each one's roll in that first Christmas. That led to a special conversation about love, family, and blessings that made me teary. Then, the boys opened one gift - they were so excited. Thank goodness for grandparents that are on the ball as I have yet to wrap a single one of Jeb and/or Griffin's gifts. I obviously work best under pressure.
Now, they are showered and handsome and off to spend the night with their dad and step mom.
Matthew has scored major points as he has informed me of dinner reservations tonight for two. Yes, two grown ups. Oh, and I will need to dress for the occasion. Where? That is a Christmas surprise. That boy has mad skills. He is off to do his traditional last minute Christmas shopping. I love him.
I am ready to soak in all the Christmas spirit I can this weekend, and I wish the same for you. From our home to yours, we wish you and your loved ones a holiday filled with peace, love, and happiness.
Merry Christmas!
