The boys and I have declared Fridays to be "Fabulous Fun Tourist Fridays". I get all my work done by noon and Jeb, Griff and I forget that we are locals and head out to enjoy the Las Vegas sites just like tourists.
Our goal is to visit the less known sites, the places rich in Vegas history, and the things that are unique to our city. So far, it has been a blast. Last week we headed down to the Lied Discovery Museum for a free admission day (Thanks Target!!) and while we were there drove through old downtown. We visited the neon sign bone yard (I sooo want to do family pictures there). It was so cool to see the nostalgic hotel signs.
After that we found the Slidin' Thru Vegas lunch truck and had delicious gourmet sliders for lunch- quite the dining experience with it's comic book cartoon wrapped exterior, friendly owner, and yummy food, I highly recommend it . We topped off our tour with a visit to the Pin Ball Hall of Fame- a must do! Free admission and most games are just a quarter. There are at least 100 pin ball machines from the 1940's to present as well as the old arcade classics like Donkey Kong and Pac Man. The boys thought this was heaven! Add a couple of Slurpees to the mix and it was old school summer fun. Man oh man, I love this summer!
We are excited to keep this summer tradition going. It has been so much fun!

They ADORED them! Mario, Tron, Pac Man, and Donkey Kong were the faves.
