christmas 2010.

What a fun Christmas! I can't believe it came and went so fast!
It was a wonderfully quiet Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with just the boys, Matt, my mom and me. We had a candle lit Christmas Eve dinner, played games, the boys opened a gift, we got our fill of treats, and then we all got ready for Santa to come. My mom spent the night which was really special. It gave us a chance to visit and spend time together. Our Christmas morning was one to remember with lots of gifts, hot chocolate, and fun.

Jeb and Griffin spent Christmas evening with their dad and Matt and I drove up to St. George where we had dinner with the whole Munro crew. Dave and Ashley hosted Christmas dinner and it was perfect. The dinner was delicious, the table setting beautiful, and the company couldn't have been better. Little Amy got all of our attention. We played with her, read books, and got our fill of Amy snuggles. Matt and I (and our dog, Sam!!) stayed in St. George overnight then headed up to see the Munro kiddos in Mapleton the next day.

Robby and Patti kindly opened their home to us and we spent time with all the kiddos. We delivered their gifts and they showed us all the fun presents they got for Christmas. Gavin got a drum set and Caden got an electric guitar. They gave us quite the show! Their house literally vibrated. Their mom is a saint. Sunday dinner was wonderful and we really enjoyed the time we had with the kids.

On our last day there, we were able to see Madison's horse lesson. What an amazing thing that was! It's bittersweet to have the kids so far away. Bitter because we can't see them as often as we used to, but sweet because they have some really great opportunities where they live. Madison's horse riding is one of those sweet opportunities. She has gotten really good and she loves it with every ounce of her. She smiles from ear to ear when she rides. Matt was overwhelmed with pride and awe as he watched Maddi with her horse, Sonny. It was a very special time for him. We really appreciated Robby allowing us to tag along and be a part of that day.

We headed back to St. George and had dinner with Dave, Ashley, Amy, Neil and Kate. Then, we caravaned down to LV with Matt's parents and they stayed a couple of days with us. It was such a relaxing visit. We literally hung out for two days.

We are way blessed to have so many incredible people in our lives. Trips and holidays like this one make us even more grateful for all the good things we have been afforded. This was a sweet way to end 2010. Can't wait to see what 2011 holds in store for us!
