I like a vintage look and it was easy to find this season. I didn't spend very much at all. I used what we had, shopped around the house, got ideas online, and picked up some cheap stuff from Target and the dollar store. I think I added about $15 worth to my decoration collection. I'm pretty happy with the end result too....and so is Griffin. He admitted so. :)
Mantles are so much fun to decorate. Combining a mix of spooky items with cob webs all over is always a great way to do something simple that has a big impact. If you have any old family photos, put them in the mix. I used one of my grandmother. It helped accomplish the haunted mansion look I was going for. A little scary sophistication perhaps? Thanks, Grandma! I also love these vine pumpkins I got in the dollar section at Target. The black glitter sign with orange and black ribbon is a dollar store find.
I adore these labels I picked up (at Target, of course!) for $2.00. They have that classy, creepy look I love and make the simplest things a touch more festive. I turned an old Bath and Body bottle into "Poison". I used some glass vases of all sizes I had already and added whatever looked good inside, pumpkins, skulls, black leaves...be creative!
This is my $1.99 skull from Target that I put with our old decorations in our big vase we keep on the island. (Doesn't the quote below it just complete the Halloween theme?)
The boys are happy with the little bit of Halloween we have and that makes me very happy. I adore fall, but I think I said that about summer too!
