As we quickly approach the end of 2010 (where the HECK did it go???) I am in full swing of what I am calling "Operation Organized". I have always done my best to keep a clean home, but have forever longed for a home that looks like Jeff Lewis from Flipping Out lives there. Yep, that's what I want. Cans facing the same way. Clothes hung according to color. No clutter to be seen anywhere. Ahhhhhhhhh.....Will it ever be that OCD? Probably not, but a girl can dream.
I have some personal goals that I want to achieve in the new year and before I embark on those, I want January to begin from a place of being neatly organized inside and out. For the next ninety days I will pick a corner of my home each week to focus on and organize closets and drawers and cabinets to my little hearts content. I will file, purge, add more systems in place and pay attention to every detail until you'd expect Zoila to come around the corner with El Pollo Loco for lunch (That's just for you, Anne Jackson!)
This week started in the kitchen. I pitched old things cleaned out junk drawers, and added baskets to hold what was left. I rotated dinnerware, gave baking utensil their own home, and cleaned behind every corner. I still have more to do and I love it. It feels so good. Here's a little glimpse...
And the best part, is now that I've declared it, I must stick with it! Nothing like accountability to motivate. Now to find a place for those Nerf guns...
