It was midnight on Christmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.
Matt and Leona were snug in their bed,
While driving to Utah was stuck in their heads,
When out of the night arose such a clatter,
I ran to the phone to see what was the matter.
It was Griffin's dad on the phone saying "I think he needs stitches",
I wondered if dad needed a good kick in the britches.
The boys were up late jumping on the bed,
When Griffin fell off and a TV stand hit his head!
We ran to get dressed and flew out the door,
And there sat Griff smiling no more.
He had tears in his eyes and blood on his brow,
All I could say was "how, Griffin, how?"
He was all stitched up and he was such a trooper,
6 stitches in his head- that little pooper!
Thankfully all was okay and Griff is alright,
But please no more stitches again at midnight!
I think if Griffin hears someone tell him "no more monkeys jumping on the bed" one more time he's going to sock them!
