Who knew? Our beloved Speedy/Muffin is capable of murder??!! He killed and ate his cage mate, Hamtaro/Blueberry!(The boys named the hamsters Speedy and Hamtaro...Madison renamed them Blueberry and Muffin).
As I checked on the little guys yesterday, as we do daily, I noticed just one set of beady eyes looking up at me. I thought I had one on the loose! I looked closer and there it was...just a puff of grey fur, one bone, and a little blood. Can you believe it?! Speedy left nearly no trace of Hamtaro!
I looked it up and hamsters are known for this. A female will eat a male just for privacy, and her own babies if she feels they are threatened. Babies will eat a mother...or sometimes just it's head. They are sick little things! I told the boys that they were just cuddling the night before. Then Griffin said, "or maybe he was sucking his blood!". EWWWWWW! GROSS!!!!!
