Fall and Fingerprints

I absolutely love the start of a new month and I adore fall, so today is a great day! It's time for all the good things that autumn brings- hot apple cider and hot chocolate, yummy stews, breads and treats, pumpkin patches and pumpkin carving, Halloween parties and trick or treating, and the crisp cool feeling in the air. It's going to be a great month!
As I was working around the house the other day, I noticed all these hand prints and finger prints on the wall about three feet high. The boys have a habit of touching the wall when they walk up the stairs or go through a hallway, and when all the kids are home there's even more sticky prints and dirty prints after treats and playing outside. It drives me nuts! I paint, scrub, wash....and there's always more.
Well, I read a quote that makes me embrace those little finger prints. It said that each year the finger prints on the wall get higher and higher and before you know it they disappear. It makes me just want to stop more often to hold all six pairs of those precious hands that make those little prints rather than spend time scrubbing them away.

We are leaving tomorrow to see the Munro kids in Utah. We are thrilled. It will be the first time that Jeb and Griff and I will be able to go with Matt. It will be so nice to have everyone together again!

Have a great time in Utah! The leaves should be changing and colorful. I love your Halloween background on your blog! Autumn is my favorite too~
