48 hours in cali.

Quick trips can be good for the soul.

We were able to head to Southern California this past weekend to see my niece at her baby shower for her very first baby.  A visit to our favorite place on earth, Laguna Beach, was a must. We (quickly) soaked in the June gloom, stuck our toes in the sand, swam in the ocean,
and ate some very delicious fish tacos.

We stayed with my brother and sister in law and their two sweet girls,
one of whom is now an official kindergartner. I passed along our "cookie talks on the first day of school" tradition with some chocolate chip cookies and other sweet treats to Miss Amy, who was sure that her mom would let her have her treats for breakfast.

The primary goal of the weekend was to see this mama to be. I was happy to see her, hug her, and wish her and baby Daniel all the goodness life has to offer them. Ashley was surrounded by good friends and family, which was neat to see. Love this girl. She will be a great mother.

Griff got to visit his best friend who moved to Los Angeles last summer. So good for him!
It was a wonderful, but crazy fast, trip.
